Ethnic Research Recruit (ERR) facilitate market research and focus group recruitment from Ethnic minority community and Marugati Creative is helping ERR to adopt the new wave of Social Media and Web 2.0. As part of the initiative to revitalise ERR, Marugati Creative re-laucnched their website. ERR had clearly undertood the need to revamp their web presence so as to market and promote their success in recruitment assistance for market research among ethnic community. Marugati Creative did help shape that idea creating a website that is a mix of blog and commercial website using a Content Management System in the backd-end.

Identifying and recruiting the right people for the focus group is the key to success in research industry. It is challenging and time consuming but done well recruitment can allow brands, products and companies to roar. This is why many UK top research agencies hand pick Ethnic Research Recruit when it comes to recruitment solutions for research on ethnic minority communities. Marugati Creative was quick in understanding the needs of ERR from a marketing perspective and focused on effectively presenting the three key focus areas of ERR – Qualitative Research, Focus Groups and Data Collection – in the new website.

Work is in progress with respect to promoting Social Networking identities and delivering some advanced features of Web 2.0 through ERR website but we have laid the strong foundation for an effective web presence.

I thought of starting 2010 with Google or more precisely Google Insight for Search. My purpose, I was curious to know about what the world is searching during this festive season. I picked Google Insight for my research and was surprised with the results. It turns out that the quest for Santa hits the first spot with keyword ‘where is Santa’. With a whooping increase of 2,200% interest, hitting its max around 23 Dec 2009, search for the Jolly Old Saint Nick takes the first place.

NORAD has Santa Clause covered and they have the annual Santa tracker up and running. It is a busy day for jolly old man in the red Christmas suit as he gets ready to hand out Christmas gifts to all of the good little boys and girls around the world. But while he is making his way from the North Pole all across the globe, many want to keep track of the sleigh, the reindeer (Even Rudolph with his nose so bright) and of course, the whereabouts of one Santa Clause is very important.

While England was only at 63% Scotland moved to a 100% when it came to regional interest in Santa’s whereabouts in UK. Google also lets you find more information using another beta tool from there lab – Google Trends which showed many interesting details like, more people from Ireland searched using ‘where is santa’ this seasons than any other country in the world with Dublin at 4th place in the list of Cities that searched for Santa.

In the days before the World Wide Web it was much tougher to get a location on Jolly Old Saint Nick as he went about his long night of delivering presents. But now that we have Google and the web it seems more searches on ‘Santa’ was carried out in Portuguese language than Spanish, Italian or English (in descending order). For some reason German, Dutch and French seems to sleep over this matter. Probably the like Greek, world is more interested in people like Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner.

To learn more about what these numbers means visit Google InSight for Search help here.
